Kylie Ansaldi

Meet 8-year-old Kylie Ansaldi, Nashua PAL’s Cheerleader of the Year and 3rd grader at Birch Hill Elementary School! Kylie’s journey into cheerleading has been nothing short of inspiring.

Coach Jen Murray had this to say about Kylie: “Kylie may be tiny…but she sure is mighty and fierce. In the short time I have coached her, she has grown tremendously as an athlete. She picks up on new skills very quickly and is a great role model to her peers. Kylie is an athlete every coach dreams of having on their team. She is always putting in her best effort and she truly shines on the competition floor.”

In 2022, Kylie faced several firsts. She transitioned to public school in March and discovered her passion for cheerleading in the fall. Despite being homeschooled in a different way, Kylie worked hard to catch up and has shown incredible progress in a short span. Kylie is dedicated to being a key part of the team. When the coach asked if anyone could perform a back walkover to earn more points for the team during their competition routine, Kylie, who had never done one before, practiced relentlessly. Kylie’s compassion extends to her teammates as well. When one teammate had difficulty learning cheers, Kylie took it upon herself to help her every day after school. She also stood up for her coach when needed, reminding her teammates that their behavior affects the entire team. Kylie was chosen to perform with Nashua PAL Force cheerleaders from all divisions at Recycled Percussion’s New Year’s Eve show, and she stepped in to learn new skills in the routine.

Kylie’s mom says that cheerleading has had a profound impact on Kylie. Despite facing several challenges in her life, Kylie found her place in the cheer squad and is determined to help others feel welcomed too. She received recognition from her school principal for helping 5 exchange students who spoke little to no English feel included. When asked how she interacts with them knowing they don’t understand her language yet, Kylie said, “I taught them how to do cheers, you don’t need language for that!”

Outside of cheer, Kylie enjoys crafting, camping, attending concerts, playing with her cousins and her dog Odin, and actively participating in environmental cleanup efforts. Kylie has also taken up tumbling classes, and wants everyone to know that she is determined to master the back handspring for her Papa. Her boundless energy and kindness make her an inspiration to all. Congratulations to Kylie on being our Cheerleader of the Year!
