Academic Achievers
During the school year, every day at the PAL Youth Safe Haven starts with homework. Nashua PAL prioritizes education, and every youth is expected to reach their personal best in school, at home, and in the community.
Youth ages 7 through 18 are paired with a mentor to work through homework and other brain stimulating activities. This connection leads greater success in school and provides a solid foundation for future academic achievement.
Summer Experience
During the summer school break, the Youth Safe Haven is open during each weekday afternoon. We stay busy with lots of sports, crafts, and other engaging opportunities. Also, PAL youth take a lot of field trips during the summer (and throughout the year).
PAL Youth Safe Haven members have many opportunities to earn fun and mind-expanding field trips! Trips include places like Beaver Brook, shows, sports events, state and national parks, beaches, zoos, water/amusement parks, and more.
Youth earn field trips by demonstrating a commitment to the community – positive behavior, regular success in school, and consistent participation in community service.
Expanding Horizons
PAL Youth Safe Haven members earn a summer of fun and mind-expanding field trips! Trips include state and national parks, beaches, zoos, water/amusement parks, and much, much more.
PhotoVoice
The PhotoVoice program ages 7 through 18 provides youth with the tools to discover, document, and display their surroundings. This unique project teaches youth about photography, how to use their voice, and how to enact positive change in their community.
Nashua PAL participates in this program with the Nashua Public Health Department.
Community Education
PAL is committed to educating all members of our community. Many family opportunities take place within and outside the Youth Safe Haven, such as family fun nights or financial education classes.
Additionally, Nashua PAL partners with Southern New Hampshire University and the Nashua Police Department to educate community members about important topics such as cyberbullying, social media, and technology. For more information go to head over to PAL's Family Zone page or contact us at 603-594-3733.
Family Support
Nashua PAL provides many levels of family support to PAL families, including the Tactical Christmas program, school supply drives, free family fun events, and individual support.
Juvenile Court Diversion
Nashua PAL's Juvenile Court Diversion program holds youth accountable for disruptive behavior while ensuring they benefit from education and support services to improve their behavior and avoid future encounters with the juvenile court system.
The Juvenile Court Diversion program at Nashua PAL offers youth ages 12-17 a second chance through restorative justice. By addressing offenses collaboratively with victims, offenders, and community members, the program focuses on accountability, restitution, and personal growth. Successful completion of this 4-month program, referred by local police or prosecutors, results in dismissed charges, helping youth avoid formal prosecution. This initiative supports families, reduces the burden on the court system, and promotes a safer, healthier community. Join us in empowering young people to make positive life choices and build brighter futures.
