Job Title: Youth Specialist
Location: Nashua PAL
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2 PM - 6:30 PM; some weekends required
Pay: $15 per hour
Position Overview:
As a Youth Specialist at Nashua PAL, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive, engaging, and energetic environment for a diverse population of youth. Your primary responsibility is to connect with young people, encouraging their personal development and supporting their social and emotional needs. This position requires a proactive and enthusiastic individual who is ready to meet the dynamic energy of the youth we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage actively with youth during programs and activities, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
- Facilitate group discussions, workshops, and recreational activities that promote teamwork, communication, and personal growth.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with participants, encouraging them to express themselves and develop their interests.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement activities that address the diverse needs of the youth in our community.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating respect, empathy, and encouragement in all interactions.
- Monitor participant behavior and provide guidance to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community members about program offerings and participant progress.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to youth development.
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with youth and a strong understanding of their developmental needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with a diverse group of young people.
- Positive attitude and ability to inspire and motivate youth.
- Experience in youth programming, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and understanding.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and program needs, including occasional weekends.

Nashua PAL Development Associate
In order to keep critical youth programming at low/no cost, fundraising and grants are vital to the organization. This position will include enhancing marketing and development activities for the organization will lead to direct support for youth and families in need by documenting Nashua PAL youth activities, support grant writing and research, and enhancing donor communications and fundraising events.
